Constitution Night
The table drafts a one-page constitution for the friend group — articles, amendments, a bill of rights, a ratification vote. Half civics cosplay, half inside-joke generator. Everyone proposes one clause; the table votes each in or out. Absurd, structured, and weirdly bonding.
What it's for
Make the group articulate its own values as a joke and then notice, uncomfortably, that you meant some of it.
The guest's job
Propose one clause, article, or amendment before the session opens; no revisions, no waffling.
The vote
Each clause goes to a live ratification vote — simple majority, no abstentions.
The reveal
The signed constitution, read aloud in full, with all the amendments intact.
Food & drink spine
American tavern classics — the menu should match the civic theater of the proceedings.
Conversation fuel
"Which clause did someone else propose that you wish you’d written?"
How it flops — steer around it
Pure absurdism with no genuine stakes. The best constitutions have at least two clauses the table takes slightly too seriously.
