Villain's Advocate
Everyone is assigned a position they don’t actually hold and must argue it convincingly — pineapple belongs on pizza, meetings are good, the DMV is underrated. Winning takes rhetoric, not righteousness. The forced disagreement frees everyone to be ridiculous.
What it's for
Free people from their own opinions for a night — when you’re forced to argue the wrong side, you get better at thinking.
The guest's job
Accept your assigned position and argue it with complete commitment; no winking at the audience.
The vote
Most convincing argument — voted by the table, judged on rhetoric not righteousness.
The reveal
Each person confesses their actual position after the vote; the gap between the two is the entertainment.
Food & drink spine
Whatever the host wants — the food is neutral, the argument is the event.
Conversation fuel
"Did arguing the wrong side change your view at all? Even slightly?"
How it flops — steer around it
Positions so obviously indefensible that nobody can keep a straight face. The best assigned positions are plausibly wrong, not cosmically wrong.
